Paint strainers work to remove dry paint chips, lumps or possible dirt and debris that has formed in paint.

Paint clumps can sometimes cause problems when getting pulled through equipment such as trigger sprayers.  In some cases, the chips, lumps and debris can cause the paint sprayers to clog which can delay or temporarily halt the project.  It’s a good idea to run paint, stain or other liquids that have been stored for long periods through a paint strainer as an extra precaution before applying.
